Try it for yourself and find out. Spritz on some water place the background then start with the squeegee in the middle of the background working from the centre outward to the edges. Make sure you push out every single air bubble which may take some time.

Dont forget a background. A background provides a dark or at least solid wall for the fish which can help make them more comfortable. A background will also help hide cords tubes pipes and filters that could otherwise detract from the appearance of your aquarium.

All of this is not to say that every tank should have the same lighting parameters as each other. It all depends on the type of aquarium you are creating and the life that will be living inside it.
